| College is going pretty well. Music Lit test tomorrow-I'm about to study with my mom for it! Ah, darn you Development of Rhythm!!!!!! Darn you to heck!!!!!!! I have a clarinet lesson tomorrow and I'm not prepared because my lesson was supposed to be on Fri, but Dr. Carl now has it tomorrow. So, I'm learning this new fingering for high G and it's hard to change after 6 years of playing it a certain way. And, I have to work on my air and dynamics and note lengths... I just don't feel too ready for my lesson tomorrow. Wind Symphony is going well. I've improved a lot since our 1st rehearsal, and I think I'll be peachy by the concert. Yay! And, the music is really cool and I really like the rest of the clarinet section-they are nice and have a good sense of humor. But anyways... um... I ordered 2 Queen CD's off of Amazon.com (Jazz and Innuendo). Those shall be flipping cool I reckon. And.... I joined the MENC so I get to go to Tan-Tar-A in January for the State Music Convention! Yippee!!!!!! Cya cool cats later! Carrie | | |
| College makes me tired... usually at this time I'd be in my prime, but now all I want to do is fall asleep on the keyboard and drool.
Yay for sleeping in tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But, I love the Conservatory, so that's all that really matters!
Cya, sucka fools! lol!

| Ahh, I am rearranging my schedule! This is what it should look like now:
MWF:
9-9:50 Music Theory 1
2-2:50 Intro to Music Lit
TR:
9-9:50 Ear Training/Solfege
10-11:15 Keyboarding 1
12-12:50 Intro to Music Ed/Therapy
1:15-3:45 Wind Symphony
So-TR=BUSY........ MWF=not so much.
| So UMKC Conservatory is freaking sweet! I've had Theory 1, a clarinet lesson, and Intro to Music Lit today. Theory 1 shouldn't be too bad-small class, but they're cool cats. My clarinet lessons went well! Dr. Carl assigned me Baermann, a Rose etude, the last 2 movements of Weber Concerto no. 1, and the 1st movement of the Poulenc Sonata. My Music Lit class will be interesting. My teacher seems pretty strict, but sorta nice. I dunno. I just gotta keep up on the homework and everything will be peachy!
I've met some pretty cool people and hung out with a few, so that is really cool! I've now met all the clarinet girls my age, so that's pretty cool!
Wind ensemble auditions are tomorrow! I'm a little nervous, but not as much as I usually am, which is really cool. Hopefully my nerves will end in college! Dr. Carl said that I'm doing pretty well on the music and that I'm prepared for tomorrow, which is relieving. Though there are a good amount of little things that I need to fix by tomorrow. So that means Nazi practicing tonight. Woo hoo! lol!
Well, I'll talk to you fantabulous people later!

| Hey all! Sorry I haven't posted anymore quiet time notes lately. I'm still reading through Genesis and am now around chapter 24. I just got a little confused on some stuff and so I felt awkward to post it. I've really enjoyed and gotten a lot out of reading Genesis so far.
Life in general:
Pretty good. College starts next Monday-go Roos! lol! Um, and then we have ensemble auditions which'll be interesting to say the least. I'm doing alright on it I guess, but I just wish I had a month or 2 more to work on the music. Oh well. It'll all be good.
I've been hanging out with the youth group more which is really cool. They are all super cool cats. haha. But, sadly after this week, I'm pretty sure my social life is almost over because I'm supposed to practice like 4 hrs a day for my major + trumpet stuff. Ahh! That'll be interesting... I'm hoping to get at least 2 hrs of my practicing done at school though during my free time. That'll help me a lot.
Well, adios! I'll be talking to you ravishing people later!
